Ffwrwm Arts and Crafts Centre

My workshop is situated in the Ffwrwm, the name is Welsh for 'seat or bench' and is derived from the Latin 'forum'. For a creative craftsman, there could not be a better location. I benefit from its tranquiilty and I am inspired by my surroundings daily. Ffwrwm is set off the High Street, Caerleon. It contains the base of the Porta Praetoria, a gate to the Roman City of Isca, Fortress of the Legions. As you enter the gates, you are led through a cobbled courtyard, an exhibition of a unique collection of objects of Celtic mysticism, thrones and figures - the works of local and international artists and craftspeople, portraying the stories of the Mabinogion, King Arthur and his Court. The courtyard is set within an eighteenth century walled garden, containing unusual shrubs and trees including a rare Tulip tree. It also houses a restaurant and several craftshops (links below).
